The British Columbia Dairy Council (BCDC) is the trade association for the province’s dairy processors – the companies that convert raw milk into finished dairy products. Registered in 1972 under the
British Columbia Society Act, the Council represents 10 member companies.
Collectively, these companies process
more than 600 million litres of milk per year and market a full range of fine dairy- and related food products,
from milk and cream to cheese and butter and everything in
between.
The dairy processing industry makes a substantial contribution to BC’s economy.
Each year, it:
- generates almost $1 billion in revenue.
- employs over 1,500 people.
- supplies all distribution channels including DSD and Home
Service.
